High over the floodplains surrounding the East Alligator River in Kakadu National Park: an ever changing canvas - from the mighty winding river and many creeks that spill into floodplains, they eventually give way to mud flats and the ocean. The dry season and low tide can reveal interesting patterns on the ground, the higher water levels of the wet season months can hide these completely. The wet puts on a spectacular display of green with water sprawling out from different directions, as shown here - the lifeline of the East Alligator River spills out in to the floodplains.
